Work With Me

Meet Billy

My work is rooted in the meeting place between psychology, embodiment, and the deeper question of who we are beneath the identities we have built to survive.

C. G. Jung wrote that the deepest aim of psychotherapy was not simply the treatment of neurosis, but “the approach to the numinous.” That idea has stayed with me throughout my own journey and continues to shape the way I understand psychotherapy. Reducing pain, distress, and suffering is important; however, it is not the core focus of my work. In my experience, symptom management alone leaves us unsatisfied and searching for more; therefore, I am far more interested in who we may be and what our full potential is when we begin developing a deeper, more real, authentic relationship with our psyche, body, and what Jung coined “the numinous”

Before training as a psychotherapist, my own life had already begun preparing me for this work. During my early twenties, a chronic illness led me to a point where the traditional medical model could no longer provide answers to my symptoms. What followed was a decade-long exploration of mindfulness, meditation, Eastern philosophy, contemplative practice, depth psychology and, eventually, Psychosynthesis. This journey transformed not only my understanding of suffering, but my understanding of human potential and our innate capacity for transformation.

While my work is informed by psychological theory, research and ongoing professional development, it is ultimately grounded in relationship. I believe that meaningful change rarely comes through insight alone, but through the experience of being deeply met, understood and supported. Creating that kind of relationship is at the heart of everything I do.

I hold a Master’s degree in Psychosynthesis Psychology and have undertaken further training in Compassionate Inquiry, the trauma-informed approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté, alongside training in Embodied Integration Coaching and Conscious Connected Breathwork.

These different strands of learning have been brought to life through my work with clients. Over the past several years, I have supported people experiencing trauma, anxiety, burnout, addiction, eating disorders, chronic illness, relationship difficulties and significant life transitions.

Every person’s story is unique, and so is the way they move through change. Rather than applying a fixed method, I draw from a range of psychological, somatic and contemplative approaches to meet the person in front of me. My aim is always the same: to help people develop a deeper relationship with themselves and a greater freedom in how they meet life.

Outside of the therapy room, I love travelling, being in nature, movement, breath work, and going on retreats. I love spending time with family and the people I love. I’m still fascinated by psychology, philosophy, and the ideas that first drew me into this work over a decade ago. Life continues to surprise me, and I’m excited to see where it leads next.
